Wife contemplating divorce due to lack of communication

Number of View: 210Dear Gilbert,   I found your name from the steadymarriages website and sincerely hope that you are willing to listen to my marital woes and give me some advise before I decide to file a divorce.    I’m a Malaysian (SPR) , married to a Singaporean  and we have a daughter in her teens. I’ve been staying in Singapore for 18 years and met my hubby in 1995 when we were colleagues in the same company. He was the very 1st guy that I’ve dated and married after 6 months of courtship without giving a thought on the age difference. Marriage was lovely for the 1st 2 yrs not until after I had given birth to my daughter. Everything starts to change. Arguments and disagreement over upbringing issues, financial issues, etc which still happen  till now.    For the past 5 years, there were not much communication between both of us as a married couple. It’s me who always starts on the conversation but I get tired along the years. We only communicated issues with regards to our child. “What is wrong with my family?”

Number of View: 215I am the father of  a 5-year-old daughter and 9-year old son. I am 46 years old and my wife is 42. My wife and myself are considering divorce because I really can’t take it anymore. Despite all that I have done for her and the family, she is constantly creating disharmony in the family. Everyday,  I fetch my daughter to and from the childcare, buy dinner, boil the water, refill the hotwater, sterilise the milk bottles, do the laundry, keep the dry clothes, fold the clothes, iron my own clothes, my son’s uniform, wash the dishes, pack my daughter’s bag for next day’s childcare use, refill the milk powder bottle etc. I will also bath my daughter when my daughter is in good mood and allows me. I do this everyday. I do it willingly and with no complaint hoping she will be moved and contribute with some effort. Ocassionally, I will mop the floor and wash the toilets. I don’t watch TV at all . Our HDB apartment ( furnished with clothes dryer and all rooms are air-coned including the living room ) is fully paid for and so is the car. We have no loans and   no sexual problems. Own son …
